Jesus Is My Friend

A Place to Share Our Testimony & Learn About Jesus Christ

Found in Hebrews Chapter 6:

Hbr 6:1

Therefore leaving the [fn] elementary teaching about the [fn] Christ, let us press on to [fn] maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.

And this we will (shall-NASB) do, if God permits.

Hbr 6:4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

Hbr 6:5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
Hbr 6:6

and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, [fn] since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Hbr 6:7 For ground that drinks the rain which often [fn] falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;
Hbr 6:8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close [fn] to being cursed, and [fn] it ends up being burned.

This is good. This article of scripture is talking about people that have ALREADY Tasted the heavenly Gift but choose to go the other way! So doctrine of Baptism and the gospel will be NO Effect on Them because they've been there done that!
It will be elementary to them since they will be puffed up in their minds Reprobate! Since the Bible says it will be impossible to renew them again because of their fallen away state! (sin) Let us pray that The Lord would keep on on His path of righteousness and show us the true gospel to walk in it. Many denominations do not teach word for Word the Bible and skip over the TRUE gospel to be saved found in Acts 2:38. Only those that are hungry and thirsty that truly want to sincerely make it to heaven will be blessed with the Truth!
Matthew 5:6 (King James Version)

6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

God's word never changes,in spite of unbelief It is what it is. Jesus is a merciful God but in the end he will be a God of Judgment.

2 Thessalonians 1:8 (King James Version)

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
I agree with you Della, Only I dissagree because this is the sole place in the New Testament that I can see where the Elementary Teachings were discussed. Now you very well may be correct in what you have spoken, the only precaution I will choose to give you is NOT to seperate Scripture from every other Scripture around it or related to it. Also though it is evident to me that you are speaking from the woman's mindset, of which I am found to be lacking severely in. Christ is the Judge so receive what you can use, leave the rest for Him to handle accordingly with.
Well Brian everyone is entitled to share their opinion . Thank you for sharing yours. I Love the Lord Jesus Today and believe His word is 100 percent true. No opinions added or words taken away will do. His word is for what it says.
The Holy Spirit Will lead us and Guide Us UNTO all Truth. God Bless you!
