My story ~

While I was but 18, after my 1st semester,
at Ozark’s Technical Community College (OTC),
studying Auto Collision Repair,
I was involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident of my own.
While returning home from visiting a friend of mine,
with whom I had become very intoxicated and very stoned at
this present time, I lost control going around a curve and hit a tree
while driving my ..90 Acura Integra. I was lucky that a gentlemen, who lived nearby just happened to be out at that specific time. Luckily for me, he also had a Cell-phone and reported my accident after having seen the severity of my injuries. I was then flown to the nearest ER, where they only gave me a 1% chance of surviving this accident, due to the severity of the injuries I sustained in it. I now believe God has other, mor influential purposes and plans in store for my future.
After my various hospital stays, at Cox South then, St. John’s in Springfield,MO, then after approximately a month, I went to Missouri Rehabilitation Center (MRC) in Mt. Vernon for 7 and a half months. My memories of that time are unclear to me even still, although, I remember thinking, “What, can I do to return home?” But my family and I were unaware of the difficulties that lie ahead for me.
Following my return home, I was sent to Ozark Nuero Rehab (O.N.R.). One thing I learned, and still use to this day, is a process for tying my shoe laces, called the ‘one-handed-tie’. I also started seeing a doctor who has overseen my rehabilitation processes from St. John’s Hospital, one, near to my home. I am now 6 1/2 - 7 years post-injury and now look to Jesus, something that while I was in my good health, I found no need for such a friend as some far-off power-figure whom I was unable to see or even relate to, but now after I had now been broken and having to begin my life all over once again,(since that was basically what it amounted to, the needed strength and motivation for restoring myself back to good health once more, I found In a relationship with Jesus Christ, my maker and Heavenly Father figure, Christ Jesus the … Son, of Man.
