I'm Rudy, a practicing Christian of the Eastern Orthodox persuasion. I was born Roman Catholic, raised in Protestantism (mainly Lutheranism), but found Orthodoxy in my early 20s and chrismated originally through the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. I have since moved to the Macedonian, Greek, Russian, Antiochian and Serbian churches throughout my travels, and I am currently a member of
St. Steven's Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, California, and will make occasional visits to
St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Riverside, California, mainly because of the excellent talks held there.
In terms of those saints who influence my path in Christianity, I list the following: Blessed Seraphim Rose, St. John of Shanghai, Gregory Palamas, John Paul The Great, William Blake, St. John of the Cross, St. Francis of Assisi, Sts. Cyril and Methodius, and friends like Athanasios, a good man who takes the time to discuss Biblical knowledge with me.
I maintain a blog on religious subjects
here. Though I am Orthodox, I enjoy good relations with fellow Christians, even if we differ on doctrinal matters. I am an inquisitive sort, and have an interest in learning about religions and philosophies of other cultures.
