I am so blessed. This week I was fortunate to fly from San Antonio to Chicago to China to Malaysia. The pictures and videos I took, see below, are amazing. When I finally got to the airport in San Antonio to begin my adventure, my plane was delayed one hour due to bad weather in Chicago. As a result I missed my flight to Shanghai on American Airlines and thought I would have to spend the night in Chicago. Boy was I wrong. American immediately put me on a United Airlines flight that went to Beijing, China. Wow, Beijing! Even though I would be on the ground in Beijing for a little while as I connected to Kuala Lumpur I was so excited to go to Beijing.
Once again, I was wrong as my short layover turned into something much more. As our airplane was suppose to land in Beijing our 747 circled around the airport for almost an hour. When we finally landed we weren't in Beijing, we were in a little town in China south of Beijing. It turned out Beijing Airport was closed due to bad weather as we waited in our 747 for almost 4 hours until we were told we could fly out and into Beijing. Not only did I miss my connecting flight, the one and only flight per day, I was stranded in Beijing without a visa. To make a long story short, not only did I meet up with two very nice Americans, I was given a one day visa and the next day with my new American friends I traveled to the Great Wall of China! Yes, the Great Wall... What a blessing and one place I can check off the bucket list. God is so good! China isn't what the American press makes it out to be. I was able to use Facebook, use Skype to talk to my Shannon, surf the Internet and travel freely wherever I wanted. China is sooooo beautiful and the people are so friendly. I truly believe its only a matter of time before communism ends and China become an open society. Then again, there is a picture I took at the Great Wall that basically sums up how the Chinese see our President of the United States. Kind of scary.
Well, after my adventure to the Great Wall I was off to the airport to fly into Malaysia. The hotel in Malaysia was a 5 Star Resort located in Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is very hot and humid all year long so I didn't get much time to travel around due to the class I was there to teach as well as being alone. From Monday to Tuesday I was an instructor for a 4G LTE Migration Strategy class that I taught in the hotel and my students were AWESOME. I was so thankful I was able to get through the two days as the first time teaching a class I had to create from scratch wasn't easy. Then again, Jesus doesn't give us more than we can handle. Thank you God for such an amazing opportunity.
I left Malaysia on Wednesday evening and headed back to the United States through Hong Kong. It was a very long THREE (3) days of travel that it took me to get back to San Antonio. Anyhow, enjoy the pictures and in less than two weeks I'm off to South Africa!
Oh yeah, the guy in the picture is my new Chinese friend I sat next to on the way to Beijing whom I got to tell about God and Jesus for the first time. Pretty cool time.
