Jesus Is My Friend

A Place to Share Our Testimony & Learn About Jesus Christ

By & Of ~Brian David-

While I was but 18, after my 1st semester at Ozark’s Technical Community College (OTC),
studying Auto Collision Repair, I was involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident of my own.
While returning home from visiting a friend of mine, with whom I recall having gotten very
intoxicated and very stoned at the present time, I had lost control going around a curve and hit a tree
while driving my `90 Acura Integra. I was lucky that a gentlemen, who lived nearby just happened to be out at
that specific time. Luckily for me, he also had a Cell-phone and reported my accident after having seen the
severity of my injuries.

I was then flown to the nearest ER, where they only gave me a 1% chance of surviving this accident,
due to the severity of the injuries I sustained in it.

After my various hospital stays, at Cox South then, St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield, MO
for approximately 7&1/2 months, I went to Missouri Rehabilitation Center (MRC) in Mt. Vernon for 7 and a half months.
My memories of that time are unclear to me even still, although, I remember thinking, “what can I do to return
home?” But my family and I were unaware of the difficulties that lied ahead for me.

Following my return home, I was sent to Ozark Nuero Rehab (O.N.R.). One thing I learned, and still use to this
day, is a process for tying my shoe laces, called the ‘one-handed-tie’.
I also began seeing a doctor who has overseen my rehabilitation processes from St. John’s Hospital,
one near to my home. I am now 5 1/2 years post-injury and now look to Jesus, something that while I was in my good
health, I found no need for such a friend as some far-off power-figure whom I was unable to see or even relate
to, but now after I had now been broken and having to begin my life all over again, the needed strength, hope and
motivation for restoring myself back to good health once again, I found through a relationship with Jesus Christ,
my maker and Heavenly Father figure, Christ Jesus the …Son, of Man.

True Fellowship & The Fear of Death

KT **** The Holy Spirit is calling us to a new bond of fellowship (koinoia) with Jesus,
a special fellowship with Him that others do not know. True Fellowship, not individualism; godly love,
not hate; building up; not tearing down, unity, not division. True Fellowship is deep, not shallow,
purposeful, not once in a while. It can be accomplished, but it is not easy. The foundation is the
Saviour, and it's finishing touches are joy in ALL things! The name is true Fellowship. And we must have it,
for without it you will die.

John 17:7-26 NASB

Koinonia is communion by intimate participation. The word is used frequently in the New Testament
of the saints to describe the relationship within the early Christian Ekklesia as well as the act of breaking
bread in the manner Christ prescribed during the passover meal (Read John 6:48-69, Matthew 26:26-28,
1 Corinthians 10:16, 1 Corinthians 11:24).
