NO GOSSIP or GO GOSSIP
I have written articles in the past on the whole senario of the message of ,"NO GOSSIPING." I would have to say this is only a distraction to yield away from the pupose of the true gospel. I will clearly give experiences and and examples why? Including a humurous history of the word itself which I stumbled upon doing reseach about 5 years back.
Let me begin by saying," I am a woman who greatly battles against false principalities and is the passion that burns in my soul to do so as the same my Lord and brother who is known as Christ Jesus.
The topic of no gossiping brings a confusion in many areas...which I am going to bring a gossip about. This is a major topic behind the pulpits. Because of many reasons. And most of it is because of slander...but some of it is because so things that are done is to be kept hush, hush.
This mesage of, "no gossiping" is not the gospel.
In the community in my town I run into a lot of people because people are people. And people aren't just people who attend a church service on Sundays. Which has been a great empathy in oneess of mind in recognition of the memebers on this site.
Anyway...The story goes...I minister on the streets. And I run into all kinds of people. Even dangerous ones of all sorts. One day I encountered a man who was perstistant on getting my number and going out. I told him I didn't date and I don't speak to men on the phone for personal reasons. He kept asking me and using religous type talk or same interst to talk ot me. I have no problem in talking to people , but he had alternative motives that was not normal. He would ride a bike and one day . followed me after coming out of a building. And tried to speak with me. In his conversation he tried to weave in sexual talk. I told him. I said," I am not going to have this conversation with you." And he did not respect that. I went to go to my car and he foloweds behind me on a bike, and as I was getting in my car he put his bike tire in the opening of my car door, asking me for a ride telling me. That he knew a pastor who used to give him a ride when he needed it. And Telling me that its my responsiblity as who I am and he was asking for a ride to the dentist. I told him,"I do not give men rides."
At another time he came up to me as I was having a conversation about the things of the Lord with some people on the streets. It was cold, I was wearing a large coat with big pockets. He put his number in my pocket and told me to call him and he walked away. Telling him I do not call men. In the conversation I was having. I told of what this man has been doing. (I didn't go into detail.) They responded back and said he used to pick of prostitues in a camper he would drive around. I didn't know anything about that. All I knew is my experience with this guy.
I went to a church pastor and told him about the problems I was having. tHE PASTOR SAID TO ME," WELL YOU SHOULDN'T GOSSIP." AND WALKED AWAY FROM ME AS THOUGH I JUST COMMITTED A SIN. AND DISREGARDED MY OPPRESSION.
At a later time I was invited to a church to attend and I came and he was there. I set myslef as though he was interested in living a right kind of life and he had the rite to be there as I did. I spoke to him like everyone else in conversation. Though I was still bothered by the idea of events. At a later time I went into the soup kitchen and this particular day. I walked by and he was saying that I was demon possessed and a prostitue.
I went to church that evening and they were having a prayer meeting. And I was really disturbed by this point and I just sat there listening to them all pray and bow their heads. I was disgusted and I went to leave. And I just told what happened.
I sad story. A GOSSIP.
People keep speaking these sermons. To silence people.
I have had experinces with this sermon that puts a flase guilt on people and to keep them silent from getting help for things. Thisd no gossiping rule of mankind is the tratitions of flase ways.
I went to a church for five years. And after a while I spoke to one of the pastors about domestic violence I was going through. At the time being slaightly persecuted by a few members who I went to another for help. And the rule came up." NO GOSSIPING."
So I continued t go to church to listen to the GOSSIP about the people in the bible. And I questioned their doctrine about these people they would gossip about. Insulting the Godly people written about in the bible. With such statements as, " Don't be like bitter Naomi" ... "Doubting Thomas" These were common teachings in the class.
When I speak about realities of today and the people like Jesus did at his time. I AM GOSSIPING!
When people have council about the people of the community they need to know about the community around them to make practicle desicsion for the people. THIS IS GOSSIPING.
HISTORY OF THE WORD GOSSIP:
The origional word gossip actually means mother godess. ( thought you may like that for a bit of humor)
Later, another part of the use of the word. Comes out of England. The women would assemble together and have meetings on the palace lawn about the community to make descisions over a gathering of tea. They were eventually called gossips.
Meaning - mother godesses.
The hinderances of the message revolving around, "NO GOSSIPING."
(It actually destroys a message of a few of Jesus teachings. As expressed above.)
Matthew18:15-20
1) go to them privately.
2) go to another and bring them to have witnesses.
3)if they don't listen tell it to the church.
THIS NO GOSSIPING IS ANOTHER GOSPEL..THATS NOT EVEN A GOSPEL.
WHO IS THE CHURCH ?
THE CHURCH IS THE ONES WHO YIELD TO TRUTH.
Theres 2 powers in this world--
One is either serving one or the other.
One power is the power of the TRUTH
The Other is the power of LIES.
When someone says..We believe in Jesus, we serve God. And then they pull on lies to cover their own sin and say Lord Lord. Someone can say they believe Jesus died on the cross for thier sins. This has no effect to those who believe in covering themselves with lies as a power. And that is belief. That the only thing that belief comes out of. Out of all doctines and rituals of many religions. If you don't believe in the power of truth and justice. You don't believe in God.
Who is your neighbor? (READ THE PARABLE OF THE SAMARITON.)
WHO IS THE CHURCH ?
John8:42..
If God were your Father you would love me.
John14:21
He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me.
Those who don't ...Those who love lies for survival.
John8:44
you are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do...for he is a liar and the father of it.
Why is it people preach no gossiping from he pulpits?
It could of came out from a lot of things. But I know this ...The message gives spiritual diseases of stupor and evil. As demonstrated above.
The voices of cries of people going to someone for help or bringing alarm :
" Hes harrassing me."
" She slandered me"
" I was attacked by someone who broken into my house."
" Theres a child molester in the neighborhood."
" That church is persecuting people."
If you sign a complaint against someone for an attack. You just went to that place and gossiped.
Many churches don't want people gossiping for fear of reputation.
This NO GOSSIPING rule. Protects people who are manipualting, molesting children, shutting up people who are abused or harassed in a church.
This rule is also used in this way...To make up a rule to prepare for excommunication so the fault and guilt lies on the person who excommunicates. That rule is only for particualr people. WHile the rest of them are gossiping...claiming. NO GOSSIPING. Because its unrealistic to not speak about someone else.
On the other hand if someone is lying and slandering. This is a whole different principle.
THEREARFE MANY DOCTRINES THAT ARE MISLEADING ..TO HINDER TRUTH. AND IF SOMEONE PUTS GODS NAME ON THAT DOCTRINE IN YOUR GOSSIP ABOUT GOD THAT PERSON HAS SLANDERED GODS NAME.
YOU CAN TALK ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, SCHOOL TEACHER, PRESIDENT, FREIND, SPOUSE, PASTOR, THE HOUSE THAT GOT BURNED DOWN AND THE FMAILY WHO IS IN NEED, TO THE RUN DOWN NEIGHBORHOOD TO THE RICH NEIGHBORHOOD, THE DRUG FREE NEIGHBORHOOD TO THE GRUG MEIGHBORHOOD. YOUR EXPERINCES. PEOPLES LIVES.
JUST AS JESUS AND EVERYONE DOES.
BUT WHATEVER YOU DO ...DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS. (yes people make mistakes and get imformation wrong.)
Its also about the intention of your own heart. Why do you speak of what you do? And in that judgement do you offer what is lacking and in need. Are you simpitizing in that conversation. And you angry about what is unjust...
In that conversation are you causing what is unjust. Are you intentionally causing unjustness to a person in your conversatiuon.
THE WORD OF TRUTH DOES NOT CAUSE CONFUSION AND HOPELESSNESS.
