Satan'el
The Hebrew standard is Satan'el. Which means: Advesary;
Against God... Or in a unique case against human, in Gods natural design, a creation.(Job2)
Satan'el is rebellior against God. Satan meaning rebellior, el meaning god.
1 Chronicles 21:1 Now satan stood up against Isreal and moved David to number Isreal.
..in vs. 17 ..and David said to God, "was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered? I was the one who has sinned and done evil indeed;
( Yes, the translation in vs. 1 sound peculiar indeed because of translation. But it is clear in vs. 17. That satan is Davids' self will rebellion, agaisnt Gods will. )
The observation of this is recognized in the teachings of Jesus and reflected in Paul.
Matthew 16:23
But he tuned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, satan! you are an offence to me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men. "
Satan is used by God and Jesus as regarding a person, in an act in rebellion against the will of God who are His chosen.
The devil has a likeness but a small contrast difference from that of satan.
In John 8:43,44
Why do you not understand my speach? Becasue you are not able to listen to my word.
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do, he was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own resourses, for he is a liar and the father of it.
A great reflection of this is revealed in majestic form as Pauls struggles with the self willed nature of self/satan.
(Yes, SATAN is the SELF)
' this is one of my favorite passages in the bible. '
Romans 7:15-25
For what I am doing, I do not understand.
For what I will to do, that I do not practice;
but what I hate, that I do.
If, then, I do what I will not to do,
I agree with the law that it is good.
But now, it is no longer I who do it,
but sin that dwells in me.
*For I know that in me(that is, in my flesh)
Nothing good dwells;
for to 'will' is present with me,
but how to perform what is good I do not find.
For the good that I will to do, I do not do;
but the evil that I will not to do that I practice.
Now if I do what I will not to do,
it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwell in me.
I find then a law, that evil is present with me;
the one who wills to do good.
For I delight in the 'inward' law of God
according to the inward man.
But I seeanother law in my members,
warring agaisnt the law of my mind,
and bringing me into the captivity
to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
I thank God - through Christ Jesus our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself serve God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
( a small reflection in Jesus' teachings concerning law and sin.)
John15:21,22
But all the things they will to do for my names sake, because they do not know Him who sent me.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
* For I know that in me, ( that is in my flesh) nothing good dwells. - this is the satan of self -
The (Satan)Adversary of Job.
Satan is described here in a metaphorical expression.
Satan in this story is not agaisnt Gods will. Does not go against Gods natural laws. But its natural place against human is in adversities 'naturally' against human.
( this is not to imply that all illnesses is by a 'choice' affliction commanded by God, and God chooses who suffers illnesses and who doesn't in every occasion someone gets ill or a small; what is known as a cold)
This satan in the story of Job is roaming freely on the earth.
(concept for thought.) Microorganism, pathogen or to just simply put it, germ.
This satan is likened to a pathogen.
God created pathogens as when He created all life. And God when he created plant. He called all these things good.
This satan that is spoken of in Job, Is Good!
God uses his servant satan,"which is the adversary to man, to test Job.
in vs. 2 of ch. 2 in its metaphorical story, expression.
It describes this satan.
2b. from going to and fro on the earth and walking back and forth on it. (simple to say it freely roams, as the same to say, the wind freely blows.)
in vs, 1 the sons of God presented themsleves to the Lord as so with this satan.
This satan is adversary to man not to God. There is no relation to this satan and sin. There is no sin in this creation.
If I get sick by a microorganism and it makes me ill. It is not the germ who is the satan, its activity that makes me ill. Because this germ is not suppose to be in me. Not because of its activity of its own will. Mind you they grow and spread 'freely'
Different blood types carry different immune systems and can fight more diseases in variations to these things. And more blood types have a stronger immune system than others. What can make one ill, may not make another ill.)
- No, we can not take from this, that one is more righteous or superior based on immune systems. -
This is an insight as how to observe the satan talked about in the book of Job. (In the concept of when Jesus teaches. How can I tell spiritual things if you cannnot understand natural things.) Which its true translation from satan which is "the satan" or the "the advesary."
Lucifer?
It is said that Lucifer is the name of satan. From the concept of, he was the most beautiful and glorious angel of God in heaven( usually reflected in speach in a physical, literal concept. That he was the greatest angel and cast out of heaven because he wanted to be like God or he was jealous of God.)
NO....
Lucifer is located in the 1611 KJV later translation. The first appearing of the word Lucifer in the bible.
Located in Isaiah 14:12
Isaiah 14:12
... is a victory song from the poeple of Israel after they have over thrown the government and king of Babylon; It was a mockery to the king of Babylon. Which is a geographical place of that time on earth. The Lucifer here that is described is the King of Babylon. Which Lucifer is only an added name give to what is written. Which is translated son of the morning; (sun of the morning.) These were a pagan people who worshipped the sun, the planets and such.
Lucifer means sun of the morning, or to say light bearer.
Which was one of the gods of the babylonian empire; Venus.
In Isaiah 14:..starting in verse 4. Its says ..you will take up this proverb agaisnt the king of Babylon, and say. And then it goes into this vs, starting with vs.5 in which what happened in this war. Lucifer foud in vs12 which is often isolated. and the whole expression of what is really happening never taught.
This Lucifer was this mere man who was king of Babylon who opressed the Israelite people whith the government, in his grandiose delusion. And thats all there is concerning this Lucifer who ignorant minds have turned it into something that it is not.
The Tanakh: English/ Hebrew (Jewish published)
Isaiah 14:12
How are you fallen from heaven, oh Shining One, son of Dawn!
How are you felled to earth, oh vanquisher of nations!
( I had a dispute with someone who tried to claim Jesus is Lucifer/ Satan. Calling Jesus the flase light. Reading from the KJV taking out of context and isolating Isaiah 14: 12 comparing it to Revealtion 22: 16 and 1 Peter1:19)
Though the word Lucifer is a name for bright and morning star or light bearer. Regardless if the name was added or not. It reflects the meaning what is there. And aslo when it was being said, and a taunt to the king of Babylon. It was a sacastic claimant to how he exalted himslef. Not saying he literally is the bright and morning star.
Lucifer; the bright and mornming star is not the satan. As perceived to be. When the ruler of Babylon was called this. They were saying , He exalted himself as God. It was a sarcastic taunt. Which they worshiped the morning star. Its not saying the Lucifer or light bearer is evil. Its the exaltation of himself as such which was evil. And his ruling was perverse against God.
Jesus did not exalt himself , but was exalted.
Revelation22:16
I , Jesus has sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churhes. I am the Root and offspring of David; the bright and morning star.
So rightfully Jesus is the Light bearer of the world, the bright and morning star above all. And yes one can say ...Jesus is Lucifer. But Lucifer in its rightful claimant is a holy symbolic name. But Jesus is not satan...and satans' name is not Lucifer.
II Peter1:19b
..you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Another false transaltion conserning Lucifer, in comparing Lucifer to the sperpent in the garden.
Wrongfully using EZEKIEL 28:13 ( the prophecy against Tyre) Again this is a geographical place compared to the garden of Eden. Blessed by God. Tyre was compared as perfect and beautiful, they were a place of trade with many mechants. Very resourceful. In vs.14 It says you were the ANOINTED cherub who covers. [ meaing they were a city of mercy.] ...it is called a place established by God. And on Gods holy mountain. Written in this passage is a witness and recording Gods' soul dealing with these people apart from the Israelites. Who God sent Ezekiel to go prophecy against them. This is talking about the whole people of Tyre.
This again...is not to be compared to the false created ideas about todays Lucifer as a fallen angel from heaven to be compared to the serpent in the garden calling this satan or the devil. Which false preachers have brought in. And know nothing of God , prophecy, Jesus, our bible, spiritual things or anything about satan.
