Wind, Fire, Spirit

About 120 people was gathered into a room waiting; They were waiting, singing, and praying with anticipation. What, that was about to happen to them they knew not, but they knew that something mighty from the Lord God was fixing to happen. There were men and women waiting; I imagine they were nervous and scared because the religious enemy was all about them. The city of Jeruselem was packed with people from all the world, assembled in the city for the Day of Pentecost. Now Pentecost was held at the end of the wheat harvest, 6th of the third month, Sivan (June), to commemorate the giving of the law. Just what do you imagine was going through the minds of the disciples gathered in this place; The upper room? Now, Jesus Christ had told them where to go, to watch and pray; That He would send a comforter to them. These people were all Jews, they had been raised Jewish and had previously entered into the various functions of the Jewish faith. Now, they were outsiders in their own home land. Some, I imagine had been ostrusized from their own family members for following this man Jesus the Christ.

Now these men and women loved Jesus, the Christ. They all had been witness to His wonderful teachings; They had been witness to His miracles of healing the blind, the lepers, raising the dead, feeding the multitudes, and dealing with the religious hypocrisy of the day. They were witness to His death, burial, and resurrection, and then to His ascention to heaven. Yes, even though they trusted and believed Jesus, some still had doubts. After Jesus arose from the grave He was still on earth about 40 days. He appeared to the apostles, put the doubt of Thomas at ease, Jesus Christ had food with the apostles, all in His Glorified body. Was this a sign for us how our glorified bodies will be. How wonderful, how marvelous God is in all His Glory. It is so awesome to know that Jesus knew us, has prayed for us, and has even made a statement where He said, "more blessed are those who believe and have not seen."

Now all that was in the upper room and had followed the teachings of Jesus was undoubtably recounting what the Lord had told them, some of the apostles and disciples were remembering His words and teachings, some were even writing the words of Christ down; for instance the sermon on the mount where the disciples and the multitude was taught how to become Christians, how to live a life to God, how to be humble and take the pride out of their lives, how to hold on and study the life and living words of the Lord, how to be humble and unprideful when persecuted, yes, even to death. You know that they were struggling to remember everything that they could about the Lord. The chosen apostles at the mount sermon was also taught more from Jesus, preparing them for what was to come, such as the great commission; Go ye into all the world, making disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I will be with you until the end of the earth. God told the apostles to go, they went, without thought, complaining, or any other hinderance that they met, even to death. "Fear Not Those that can kill your body, but Fear Him that can kill your soul."

When this Day of Pentecost had fully come, the disciples and apostles was in one place in ONE ACCORD. Suddenly there came a mighty sound from heaven; Likened to a rushing mighty Wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of Fire, and one sat upon each one of them. Then they all were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Holy Ghost gave them utterance. Can't you just imagine, one minute nervous about what was going to happen, the next shear joy and ectasy as the Holy Ghost filled them.

Now when the Wind noise arrived from heaven it was so mighty that the whole city heard it, and so many people, Jews that was from all the nations went to see what the mighty noise was. Then when the multitude all came together they were all confused and dumbfounded that each one was being talked to in their own language. At first they thought all in the house was drunk because of the spoken tongues, but then they realized that it was in their own language. The church was born when after the apostle Peter spoke to them the gospel 3000 souls believed, and baptized. How glorious the true gospel, sharper than a two edged sword, able to cut down even to the marrow of the soul.

Now we see people in all the world, following their Lord, taking care of the poor and needy, the orphans and the widows. Yes; We are now in a world wide revival, more people taking up the cross and following Christ Jesus, I pray for those that are not being taught the true gospel, I pray that they will be convicted in their hearts to have the love of God, to have compassion, the truth, the knowledge, and the understanding. Not mans knowledge or understanding, but God's knowledge and wisdom that only God can implant in us. We are in the end time, all of us should be actively seeking God, and doing the Good Work of the Lord. In the book of Revelation, the Words of God to the apostle John was knowledge about the church, how people are living in the church, and what God wants us to be. In chapter 2 of the book of Revelation it tells about the persecuted church verses 8-11, in verses 12-17 it tells about compromising of sinful actions within the church, verses 18-29 gives us an incite into the corrupt church. Chapter 3 1-6 is about the DEAD church, then in verses 7-13 about the Faithful church, what we should strive for, and finally verses 14-22 it tells us about the lukewarm church, the most dangerous church to our souls. Since God said that we are the temple of God, each person is a temple; May I ask you; Just what church are you?

Are you a church that stores up all your worldly wealth, build bigger barns to hold all your earthly treasure in, eating and drinking and making merry, not taking any thought about the poor down trodden, the hungry, the needy, the orphans and the widows, just storing up the trinkets in the barns you have built. I will tell you like Christ Jesus said and I quote Jesus; "Thou fool, tonight your soul will be required of you." Are you ready to meet your maker? If not, I believe repentance would be in order, don't you.
